Persian

Persian is fun but writing is still difficult and I'm still trying to get used to the writing. I'm also still trying to learn the alphabet. Not just the initial letters but all the forms of the letters. It's going to take some time.

The book that I have makes it a little difficult to pronounce correctly because there are letters that I don't need when I'm pronouncing the words.

The grammar isn't that bad but it can be confusing.

I wish I could spend more time on Persian.

Russian: reading/writing/listening....

So I've been reading Russian out loud way more lately. I've been having some help from a new friend and I'm making some improvements. But I'm still having a difficult time with pronouncing big words and my mouth gets tired. On top of that, I run out of air so I have to pace myself when reading Russian.

Writing texts on my own in Russian is a little difficult so I figure that I'll try to use the vocabulary that I'm learning so it'll help reinforce what I'm learning. Plus, I get to go back and use words that I've forgotten.
 - I can't wait to stop using the vocabulary from live mocha. I really want to get the vocabulary from one of my Russian books. Then maybe I'll get past the A2 level faster because I can listen to the vocabulary and dialogs.

Listening to a native Russian speaker is fun unless they have a heavy accent then I can't understand anything at all. When I listen to any native speaker, they have to speak slowly most of the time. I really hope I can get rid of that by the end of the academic year.

Russian grammar....

So a native Russian speaker suggested to me that I should focus on one or two cases in grammar.
Well since I'm somewhat familiar with the Accusative Case and Prepositional Case, I'll work on the Genitive Case and Instrumental Case. Then I'll work on the Dative Case.

two years

So it's been two years (since November) studying Russian and I'm glad that I've
been getting better at it but I'm still bad at the language.

I really want to be at the intermediate level so much. Studying the vocabulary and then
remembering the words is very tough. Then the case system for grammar is even more
difficult.

But things have gotten better. I met someone to help me with speaking and conversational
skills for Russian. It's great because every week I get to practice with her, reading from a book
and talking in Russian. She's a very nice woman.

I did talk with another woman with a heavy Russian accent and it was very difficult to understand
what she was saying. I had to ask her to repeat what she was saying repeatedly.

But maybe I can reach close to the intermediate level.

On another note, I've started to study Persian Farsi again. Hopefully, I can pick up on this
language too. I think that the writing is the toughest part.

Anyways, I'm going back to studying Russian!!! Then maybe Persian Farsi.

languages

I've been thinking about languages and what a real benefit knowing languages are...
Knowing and feeling...

Knowing - Knowing a different language lets someone become closer to understanding the world in many ways.

Feeling - Feeling happiness and sadness.

Knowing languages takes out the "middle" person so that the language can actually be understood.

It doesn't have to be complicated......

network security

Alright so my record shows that I have just one major and it's Network Security. I feel a lot better about it and there was a lot of things that had to be done so I can have a better chance to graduate this Fall. I had to drop the Network Administration track. I finally got credit for the CCENT and the Windows Server class that I had at GRCC. So that helped a lot. So I have the regular amount of classes for each semester and I'm doing a seven week for the project management class and then the session two seven week capstone class. Regular semester classes for discrete structures and information assurance.

I filled out my application to graduate and all I have to do is print it off and sign it. Then I get to fax it!

Well I just dropped my first major so now I can graduate (hopefully) next fall. I'm still waiting for the update to happen on the system at school.

eCPPT

ElearnSecurity Certified Professional Penetration Tester

Well I signed up for this course yesterday and I started going through the lessons today and it's tough. Knowing programming languages would have been very helpful but I hope that I can catch on quickly. There are some basic security that should already have been covered and the basic command line knowledge is very helpful. Everything is interesting but so difficult.

update

Alright...

Same thing has been happening..... but this year at Davenport has mostly been good. I enjoy going to school there and even though I have to take a few classes that I don't want to take, things have been good. I did make the Dean's List this semester because I got a 3.8X GPA which moves my overall GPA to 3.5X. I just hope that I can get the GPA higher.

I have to choose my classes for next year. It's tough because I'm a double major and I could be a single major and take pregraduate classes so I won't have to take them later on but there are other classes I want to take like Spanish and Cisco Voice. But since I don't the CCNA it would take longer to graduate with a double major. One concern that I have is that because I won't have a degree in Network Administration, will it make it more difficult for me to have a job with Routing and Switching. Even though I want to do security, I would like to work with Routing and Switching with a little voice.  Anyways, having a degree in Network Security would be great and since I already have an Associates degree in Network Administration, I don't think it would be bad. Especially since I will go and get the MSIA.

I've been looking at this penetration testing course for a little while and the new version of the course came out but the price went out. I think that I will have to save my money for the course and work on the course while I'm at school next year. It would be great to complete the course for eCPPT and then I could go back and get the C|EH. I hope this really helps me get a Network Security job. The CCNA:Security will help too and plus I would like to get some security certifications completed through Cisco.

The ICND2 has been a very difficult test because for some reason, I know a lot of the material but I still can't pass the test but I've been getting close to passing. I just have to spend a little more time on the material to pass the test.

Project Management is boring.......!!!!!!!!

Done with work!!!!!!!

I did get to upgrade my computer. New processor corei7 2600 with a new motherboard, ram, and a SSD. I installed windows 7 and it's great! I'm having a few problems with some programs that are on the other hard drives where programs won't run until I restart. Maybe I should install them on the SSD. I plan on buying more SSDs later on and buying bigger hard drives to replace the other hard drives that I have.

I've still being studying Russian. I'm trying to hurry and learn as many words as I can but I'm learning a lot more even though I'm not getting the help and support that I need because of different reasons but it's fun. Grammar is still a problem and hopefully can spend a couple weeks on the grammar so I can communicate better. I wish I could study the other languages more.
